Wouldn't the world be walking on air with winsome smiles
Had the moral high ground not persisted on the revelation of truth
If every ear was greeted with what it wished to hear
And what it wished to hear were jubilant words of deception
The unvarnished truth would be the wrecking ball to the soul
And lies would be the only remedy to the wrecked spirit
When has the truth ever pampered anyone's wounds
Countless have been internally destroyed under it's burden
Why not counter destruction by feeding falsehood
If the world needs to be fooled to seek lost happiness
Would it be appropriate to define righteousness on the basis of truth
I do not know if a better world would arise
But formulation of a happier world would be complete
Where people don't die a thousand deaths before dying
Where society is not crippled under truth's unrelenting burden
Where the priority of morality lies in feeding the world with lies
