THE WONDER OF LETTING GO

The past can be an anchor weighing you down
Hooked on to you, averting your rise
You become an intangible part of the past
But the past can never become your reality
For it is gone, lost in the vast spans of time
And what has gone will not and cannot come back
The harder you clasp onto it, the tighter you make your hold
The fresher will the wounds reflect on your flesh
Your mind yearns to go back, to make it alright
But there is no turning back from reality
Open your eyes to what is true,
Turn away from the demons of your past
Rid yourself of the burden that has become a part of you
Let it go, and start afresh. Start in the actuality of your reality
The anchor of the past transforms into the holy grail of your present
And you need to unhook it, to let it go.
